Private Trust Ownership Colonial Period Community Centre
A community centre for the Saxena clan, this large colonial building retains an impressive facade and a courtyard plan. It is accessed through a two storey high central semicircular archway with a moulded fringe and plain voussoir. The recess has a flat lintel opening and inscriptions on the intrados. The archway is supported on large circular pilasters, and is flanked with bulky flat pilasters, topped with reliefs of urns. Elsewhere, there are a number of flat lintel doorways, some of which retain elaborate stucco pediments. The first floor has a number of full height, flat lintel windows. The top floor has flat lintel doorways with semi-hexagonal balconies and simple stucco slab chajjas. The central balcony, over the archway, is flanked by doric pilasters and has ironwork railings and stone slabs. Internally, a flight of stairs from the entrance leads to a high plinth and a large open courtyard
