Private Ownership Late Mughal / early Colonial period School
The Anglo Arabic School is one of Delhi’s oldest, dating back to the 18th century. It occupies two stories and is accessed by an impressive sandstone gateway. The gateway has a semi-octagonal plan and has a number of foliated arched openings on both levels, with minarets on the corners and a crenellated parapet. The building itself has a courtyard plan with a large central garden. The rear side of the gateway has a large central pointed arch opening, flanked by sandstone jharokhas with bangladar roofs. The bays on all sides have foliated arches on both levels. The rear side of the building was altered by the British and is now used as a hostel complex
