BAOLI (GHIASPUR/NIZAMUDDIN) This large baoli (stepped well) is considered sacred by the followers of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. It is said that the baoli was under construction at the same time when Ghiyasu'd-Din Tughluq was engaged in building Tughluqabad. As the latter had prohibited workmen to work elsewhere, the labourers worked for the saint during nights. Bur when the emperor forbade the work during the night and the sale of oil for the purpose, the water of the baoli served as oil through the miraculous power of the saint.
